Secretan Troyanov
History
The Firm was founded in 1967. A major assignment handled by the firm was in relation to the collapse of the first mutual fund, widely distributed to American expatriates. The well calculated risks and the dynamic approach used by the partners of the firm made it possible to maximize the value for the investors. This was the beginning of a success story. Many American based banks and brokers became thereafter long standing clients, followed by European Banks and financial companies. To be able to better serve the Firm's clients and professional contacts for their Swiss law issues, the London office was opened in the late eighties. During the nineties Russian clients and western investors led the firm to expand once more with the opening of the Moscow office. A departement of the firm, with four Anglo-Saxon lawyers based in Geneva, now specializes on trust matters to help clients preserve their privacy in a rapidly changing legal environment. More recently, an increased focus was placed on Latin American business. Despite a restrictive policy in terms of participation in board memberships, partners sometimes accept to serve on the board of financial institutions.

The founding partners retired from the partnership in 1999 (Hubert Secretan) and in 2001 (Tikhon Troyanov) although they continued to practice (to a limited extent) as independant lawyers (of counsel).

In September 2007 the Firm celebrated its 40th anniversary during 4 days in the Veneto.
